SSSers.
I hope everyone had safe travels back from New Orleans.
We had some 941 of you register for these meetings! This means that SSS continues to grow since the pandemic and this is so exciting to see!
Thanks again to our 2023-2024 President, Gayle Kaufman, and their Program Chairs D’Lane Compton and Hiromi Taniguchi for their fantastic work on the program.
Vice President Irene Browne worked to secure yet another fantastic slate for our upcoming elections (in May) and lead us all through the Honors and Presidential Address on Friday evening.
With sociological scholarship running the gamut of the discipline, it also did feel like we collectively worked this past week to think about “Disrupting Binaries”!
Be on the lookout for a Satisfaction Survey for SSS 2024 from the Membership Committee in the next week or two. Please fill this out too as Executive Office and Executive Committee uses this information to make each year better than the last.
Meanwhile, start preparing for President Dawn Robinson’s and Vice President Anthony Peguero’s meetings in Charlotte, NC (April 9-12, 2025) where President Robinson invites us to consider the “Sociology of the Future and the Future of Sociology”.
Hope to see you all there.
Onward!
David L. Brunsma
SSS Executive Officer
