Position Summary:


The Sociology Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at
Auburn University invites applications for up to 2 full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant
Professor(s) of Sociology position beginning August 16, 2026. Applicants must have a PhD in
Sociology or a closely related field at the time employment begins, and excellent interpersonal
skills. Research/ teaching interests should include Criminology and Health. The ideal candidate
will teach, in person, existing courses in these areas and will have the opportunity to develop
others related to their specific interests within the undergraduate and graduate Sociology
degree programs. Additionally, the ability to teach courses in sociology and social science
research methods is expected. Teaching load is 3/2 with a reduced load of 2/2 for the first two
