Job Opportunity: Assistant/Associate Professor of Sociology, Middle Tennessee State University

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#129030) in sociology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including those with a focus on health, illness, and healthcare systems; maintain an active research agenda with potential for external funding with a focus on health, illness, and healthcare systems; advise and mentor students from varied social and economic backgrounds; and contribute to the departmental, college, and university service.

A terminal degree in sociology is required by the appointment date. Applicants who can also contribute to the department’s focus on applied and practice-oriented sociology will receive special consideration.
