SSSers,
I am reaching out today to convey my support and hopes for well-being and recovery for our members who have been affected by Hurricane Helene and its aftermath.
From the winds, rain and storm surge in the initial landfall, to the tornadoes, to the floods from the bursting dams in the aftermath, Helene left a long and broad path of destruction and chaos.
We lost more than 100 human lives across at least six states in our region.
We know that many of our members have been affected in various ways. The SSS Leadership and EO have been in conversation and want you to know that you are on our minds and that we are hoping for the safety and comfort of all of you who may have lost family members and homes.
In the coming days we will be communicating with you about SSS plans and preparations for the 2025 Meetings in Charlotte.
For today, we are just hoping you are safe and dry and comfortable.
Sincerely,
Dawn T Robinson, SSS President
