Insights from ASA, SSS, and SWS Past President Adia Harvey Wingfield, ASA President Alford Young, SSS Past President Dawn Robinson, and incoming SSS President Marni Brown will be shared.  J.T. Thomas is presiding over this panel.

THURSDAY, APRIL 9: Tales from Florida: Lessons Learned to Shape Sociological Influence: What are the lessons learned from Florida that can help Sociologists across the US navigate the changing landscape of higher education? This panel is comprised of Floridian interdisciplinary researchers and scholars who will address this question. Led by Will Tyson (University of South Florida), this panel features Fernando Rivera (University of Central Florida), Angela Vergara (University of Central Florida), Sophie Filibert (University of North Florida) and Christopher Janson (University of North Florida).

FRIDAY, APRIL 10: Building a Resilient Discipline: The Role of Evidence-Based Practice in Social Transformation: This is a talk by Rayshawn Ray who is the David M. Rubenstein Fellow in Governance Studies at The Brookings Institution and Professor of Sociology and Executive Director of the Lab for Applied Social Science Research (LASSR) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Ray has been featured on CNN,The New York Times, MSNBC, The Washington Post, Newsweek and C-SPAN. Brandon Jackson (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) will preside over this session. 

SATURDAY: APRIL 11: Revolutionary Sociology: Theory, Methods, and Practice: This panel of sociological thought-leaders features Alyasah “Ali” Sewell (Emory University), along with Deadric Williams (University of Tennessee, Knoxville) and Victor Ray (University of Iowa). Jamel Catoe (UNC Charlotte) is presiding over this panel which focuses on what sociologists need to do to better understand, address, and promote concepts, ideologies, and practices with stronger methodological, theoretical, and conceptual strategies.
