Two Lecturer Positions in Sociology, Middle Tennessee State University

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for
two full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) Sociology faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer. These are one-
year appointments with possible annual renewal for up to three years. Start date for the positions is August
1, 2021. Positions contingent upon funding.

We seek candidates who can contribute to a program that emphasizes social justice and are willing to work
with a diverse student body that includes many first-generation college students. The successful candidate will
be expected to teach race/ethnicity and/or family courses in addition to Introduction to Sociology, Social
Problems, and other sociology courses as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload each year. Ability to
teach courses in aging and gender a plus.

A Master’s degree in Sociology is required by appointment date. ABD or Ph.D. candidates will receive special
