Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology

Birmingham-Southern College seeks candidates with a demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate courses for a one-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology position beginning August 2022 and ending May 2023 with the potential of renewal. All candidates should have interest and expertise in teaching “Introduction to Sociology.” We will give special consideration to candidates with experience, interest, and expertise in teaching “Sociology of Gender and Sexuality,” and/or courses focused on drug use or criminology.   

The teaching load is three courses in the fall term, one January term project course, and three courses in the spring term. 

Preference is given to those with a Ph.D. in Sociology but those with a Master’s degree in Sociology will be considered.
