The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#129220) at the rank of Lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years total. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful applicant is expected to have an interest in contributing to a program that emphasizes social justice, a willingness to work with a diverse study body that includes many first-generation college students, and a commitment to, and evidence of, quality undergraduate teaching.
Required Education: MA in Sociology or a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in Sociology.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with a PhD and those qualified to teach courses in Health, Family, Gender, and Social Justice/Advocacy who can also teach general education courses in Introductory Sociology and Social Problems.
