Position SummaryThe Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Jackson State University invites applicants for a tenure-track position, Assistant Professor position beginning August 2023.

Qualifications

Minimum Required EducationMust have a  terminal degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice. 
Minimum Required ExperienceThe successful candidate must provide evidence of 1) Excellence in teaching 2) Ongoing scholarship 3) Grantsmanship and 4) Professional development to meet the criteria for promotion and tenure at the appropriate time in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology. 
Minimum Required Licenses and/or CertificationsNone.
QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with specialization in qualitative research methods, victimology, law enforcement and/or cybercrime. 
Skills and Abilities
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Teaching 9-12 credit hours per semester, depending on faculty status and advising responsibilities of graduate studentsParticipating in delivering college-wide first and second year core courses that emphasize writing, speaking, and the use of technology
