Assistant Professor of Sociology Position: The College of Charleston

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2021. Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in Sociology by the time of the appointment. We seek a broadly trained sociologist with a specialization related to children and youth. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in child and youth welfare, protection, and well-being, as well as race, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching within an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences setting and will be expected to teach a combination of courses in their area of specialization as well as introductory sociology courses and research methods. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of ongoing scholarship.
